A moderate trail walk through Wicklow Mountains National Park which hosts a monastic site, round tower and spectacular scenery. Spark your imagination with tails of St. Kevin, the Viking invasion and local life when the mines were active. A remarkable place which will still your mind, inspire your heart and fill your soul.
An easy trail walk that brings you along grass gallops, mature woodland, the Avondale River and up to the house itself. Avondale house is a museum to Parnell, otherwise known as “the uncrowned King of Ireland”. You can explore the house interior and learn all about this amazing man and the impact he had on Irish history.
This walk begins south of Blessington town and follows “the Greenway” along shores of the Lake, through forest and natural woodland. This exploration of the flora and fauna of the lake brings you passed an ancient medieval ring fort to the estate of Russborough house. On the guided tour of the mansion you will learn the colourful and tragic stories of theft and loss by the IRA and gang leaders, South African diamonds and fine art.
